In her inaugural scientific oration, Prof. Sabihaini delivered a speech titled “The Role of Green Business Strategy: A Theoretical and Empirical Review.” In her address, the woman born in Sibolga on January 15, 1963, stated that the green business strategy is an approach that integrates environmental issues into business strategies to achieve optimal company performance by focusing on managing environmental impacts across the business value chain, from production to distribution.

"A green business strategy is an approach that integrates the principles of sustainability and environmental friendliness into company operations. In its implementation, the green business strategy focuses not only on profit but also on environmental sustainability, which can enhance reputation and consumer loyalty," said Prof. Sabihaini.

Interestingly, Prof. Sabihaini added, companies that implement green business strategies tend to be viewed positively by the public and consumers, as they are seen as being environmentally conscious and socially responsible. This has an impact on improving the company’s reputation in the eyes of consumers.

"A positive reputation becomes an important factor in consumer purchasing decisions and is an invaluable intangible asset for companies," added Prof. Sabihaini.

In her speech, Prof. Sabihaini introduced the Natural Resource-Based View of The Firm (NRBV) theory as an extension of the Resource-Based View (RBV), which focuses on leveraging a company’s unique resources to create sustainable competitive advantages.

"While RBV considers resources in general, NRBV gives special attention to resources related to the environment and sustainability," said Prof. Sabihaini.

As additional information, Prof. Sabihaini earned her Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Management from Universitas Krisnadwipayana Jakarta. She then pursued her Master’s degree in Management Science at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and her Doctorate in Management Science at Universitas Brawijaya.
