In a concerted effort to strengthen synergy between Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) and the academic community, the Pangeran Diponegoro Islamic Boarding School Foundation has formally entered into a strategic partnership with the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the FEB UPN conference room in Sleman, Yogyakarta.
The MoU was signed by H. Imindi Kasmiyanta, S.Pd., M.A.P., Chairperson of the Pangeran Diponegoro Islamic Boarding School Foundation, and Dr. Januar Eko Prasetio, S.E., M.Si., Dean of FEB UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. The collaboration is aimed at enhancing the quality of the pesantren, improving human resource capacity, and realizing the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (three pillars of higher education) through various collaborative initiatives.

In his remarks, the Dean of FEB UPN expressed his appreciation for this initiative. “Islamic boarding schools are an essential pillar in shaping the nation’s character. Collaborating with pesantren is not only an expression of academic engagement but also a means of reinforcing social values within the community,” he stated.
Similarly, the Chairperson of the Pangeran Diponegoro Islamic Boarding School Foundation welcomed the partnership as part of a broader institutional strengthening strategy. “We envision a pesantren that excels not only in religious affairs but also in education, economics, and entrepreneurship. This is the essence of developing a modern pesantren,” said H. Imindi.

According to the MoU, the scope of collaboration encompasses several strategic areas, including:
a) Education and training
b) Pesantren development and religious outreach (dakwah)
c) Economic empowerment and entrepreneurship
d) Research, as well as faculty and student internships

The signing ceremony was attended by the leadership of the pesantren and representatives of the FEB UPN academic community. The event was marked by a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere during the discussion and networking sessions.
